The Navarro Residence presents
David Hinnebusch
Inside the Mind of a Madman
April 13th, 2013, 6:00pm – 10:00pm
The Navarro Residence, 5704 Baltimore St. Los Angeles CA 90042
David Hinnebusch
“Red Car Head”
The collection of works curated by Navarro from Hinnebusch’s career reflect her attraction to work that depicts the vulnerability of the artist’s emotions. Navarro comments, “His paintings are vibrant and bold, which, to me are representative of his wild heart and honesty. Within each piece, layers upon layers of overwhelming emotion are poured into what become strong, mesmerizing pieces. Hinnebusch’s works give us a rare treat; a glimpse into a chaotic mind which contains raw talent and produces vivid imagery.”
The Navarro Residence is residential setting, which houses an extensive permanent collection. The venue was established and intended to promote an atmosphere of both education and of experimentation with art collection. The space offers an opportunity for guests to experience a very uncommon art form. Designed to spark interest in new collectors as well as introduce experienced buyers to emerging artists, Navarro comments, “I want to share my personal collection, as well as exhibit new works, with the hope of providing a platform for artists to share the essence of their imaginations in an intimate and unique setting that will appeal to anyone in the art community.” The Navarro Residence welcomes artists, enthusiasts and collectors alike to come home and celebrate art.
The Navarro Residence is proud to partner with NELAart Org and their monthly Art Walk Series. NELAart Org provides a resource to share information and ideas and is dedicated to increasing the visibility of the thriving arts community in the Northeast area of Los Angeles.

ARTIST/ILLUSTRATOR, BRADY SMITH CLEVERLY COMBINES SPACE AGE, TEX MEX, & DIA DE LOS MUERTOS, IN HIS SOLO EXHIBITION OPENING IN MARCH AT THE NAVARRO RESIDENCE
Having exhibited dozens of times in Los Angeles, Texas, others have also perceived his work as anything from folk to abstract. Because he was raised in such close proximity to the Mexican border, the influences from his youth are evident in the playful scenarios and vibrancy created by a lively, detail oriented imagination. His most recent gallery solo exhibition entitled: “Wrestlers, Bunnies, Skeletons and Such” was held in August, 2012 at One Art Space, in TriBeca, NYC.This will be Brady Smith’s first solo exhibition at The Navarro Residence, located in Highland Park, CA. Curator/collector, Navarro, owns several Smith original works, and finds the quirkiness and whimsical imagery his art offers is a great addition to her large personal collection of art, and felt others who don’t yet know about Brady Smith will feel the same, and want to add his art to their personal or gallery collections.
The purpose of The Navarro Residence is to offer a non-traditional exhibition space that promotes an atmosphere of experimentation via a personally curated art collection; along with an interactive opportunity for guests to experience what it is like “living with art.” To arrange an interview with Jessica or Brady, or schedule a private preview, please e-mail: UrbanArtPR@gmail.com. CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED ARTIST AND MUSICIAN, JOSEPH ARTHUR RETURNS TO THE NAVARRO RESIDENCE FOR A RETROSPECTIVE ART EXHBITION

Arthur’s artwork has graced the sleeves of his entire discography; the sleeve design for his 1999 extended play Vacancy was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. Curator, Navarro, is also a longtime collector of Joseph’s art and owns several original pieces, including the mixed media work on canvas entitled: ‘Love Never Asks You To Lie’, drawn and painted live by Joseph, in his song video of the same title (link included.) Joseph’s first gallery exhibition was, MOMAR at Vertigo Gallery, in London, England, October 2006.
Though Joseph Arthur’s first passion is the visual arts, he is better known for his musical talents after being discovered by Peter Gabriel in the mid-nineties. “When he was starting fifteen years ago, I was struck by the strength and visceral quality of Jo’s paintings. They seem to connect to Expressionism, Art Brut, Basquiat and the Graffiti movement.I remember encouraging him to take the painting seriously and it has been great to watch its evolution. Jo is a really unusual, interesting and talented artist in music and art”. – Peter Gabriel
